The Youiverse in You

So often we turn away from moments of stillness and fear any sensation or thought that represents boredom. What happens if we turn this on its head, consider it a gateway into a place of stillness and potential bliss?

Let the space in between glow  by slowing down and really feeling the presence of your body, this breath and the way it comes in and out fo your body. A true gift to slow right don and relax.

I know that some people find the idea of social distancing the most challenging thing. My heart goes out to those who struggle to be in their own company, as I once did. Always kept myself busy, doing, socialising, making, distracting myself from, I dont actually know what!

Over the years meditation has been a life saving practice changing all of that. It allows movement through a door which the ego guards well and leads to a path self acceptance, self compassion and loving all that is.

It's now a well known fact that meditation actually changes the brain, increasing frontal cortex and decreasing the amigdala which is where the fight and flight stress hormones are signalled from. It's no wonder one of its magical properties is to change ones perception of things!
Meditation is a very simple way to support stress recovery & anxiety. The challenge is in exactly how simple it is because the ego gets bored,& prevents us even trying. ๐Ÿ’– One thing that we have from the beginning until the end is our own breath, our own mind and our own body. To become friends with that is an opportunity not to be missed. So try it right now, just a simple focused moment with your own beingness, like that of a cta if you will. They are experts at โ€˜beingโ€™
The sweetest courtship is the one tending our own heart and existence, as part of the bigger picture, a tiny dot within the web of the finite and miraculous life.
Yet so bored are we by the simplicity of it all we forget the gift. There is a saying that goes if you think you only have 20 minutes to meditate do that and if you dont think you've any time, you should probably do an hour! Its all about letting go of the ego and stepping into the heart.
Our hearts know and they feel thirsty for courtship ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŒพ when did you last court your heart and change your brain?!

As promised though, in my previous blog here is a list of new things you could try out whilst we are all staying at home and entertaining oursleves:

Read a new book

Learn a new meal or way of cooking,

Learn to meditate, to relax, to let go of doing,

Learn a new language,

Draw, paint or create collages,

Bake a cake or three. Eat the cakes, mindfully.

Call friends and family on the phone,

Do levels of cleaning you didnโ€™t know were possible,

Go to bed early,

Get up early

Meditate, and relax

Listen to the birds x x x
