Meditation, the Rebellious Act

IMG_0297.jpg

I have just come in doors from a meditation sitting in the garden.
Some days I confess that is takes a while to settle. So good is the monkey mind at distraction and keeping me conditioned within a certain lens of reality.

The ego mind is only trying to keep me safe, but it is from a conditioned STATE of MIND, the known place of functioning that ties me to the “To Do List” treadmill. This is what I hope to break away from when I go to meditate. Not avoiding the list of jobs, that is just being lazy, but HOW I approach and prioritise them.

A conditioned state of mind comes mostly from fear and sense of lack of, especially that of time. We are so conditioned to begin, end or fill in the middle of our days in certain ways. At any point we have absolute FREEDOM to change that. To change the STRUCTURE and INVITE in some VERY IMPORTANT self care practice.

So meditating is a rebelious act!

Probably the quietest one, but it is a focused, active rebellion against the conditioned society that feeds the rush rush mentality. It is alot about the perceptions of what others think of us, but other
obstacle/ conditioned type of thinking can look like this;

 " I dont have time"
 " There is too much to do"
"I'm not in the mood to meditate"
"If I sit down to meditate Im being lazy"
"Meditation is borning"

All these thoughts do one thing; prevent you from sitting down, with your own breath, body landscape and gentle healing vibration. They STOP you sitting in your place of rest, to restore yourself back to a state of CALM, SOFT GROUNDEDNESS. I mean why deny ourselves the opportunity to release some feel good hormones into us and have a day in more joy?

"On the blank canvas of ignorance splash some colour of knowledge"

Prem Rewat said this quote, which I love because it reminds me that the ego isn't wise, but the state of mindfulness and heart is. There is nothing boring about wisdom, but thinking makes it so. It’s all about perspective.

Meditation rebels against the mind set we usually function from. It reboosts our energy and suuports brain function and concentration . So Im rasing my herbal tea mindfully to Meditation!

My Womens Wellness Online Meditation Circle is every Thursday. It is free and I am welcoming donations too if you wish to support me offering my work.
