They call me to paint them

I have been called to express in my painting themes of Joy and Wandering. Letting them land and dance around this creative space, inner and outer.

The words Awe and Wonder floated around too, like little children tugging on my skirts, reminding me they were there. One day I took up the invitation to dare try and paint these epic, romantic, heart-opening things. Once I began the floodgates of expansive beauty and memories from as far back as I can recall invited themselves home.

How does awe and wonder look? I only catch glimpses at the corner of my eye, in a ruffled fold of my heart. It is without a doubt an abstract idea to think that one can embody the principle enough to paint it out.
To express a sense of something more majestic than the view. To draw you in with a line and colour of such dreamy power that it touches something deep within.

This mystery, of the capacity we have to experience, however fleetingly, feelings awe and wonder, is all I want to express.

Enough to put a spell on you.

Enough to keep the spell working through my heart and soul.
